After declining a $16 million option on his contract last month with the San Antonio Spurs, Pau Gasol has agreed to a new three-year deal with the Spurs, according to a report from ESPN.

Pau Gasol has agreed to a three-year contract with the San Antonio Spurs.

Gasol opted out of his old deal to give the team some flexibility in free agency. He signed a two-year contract worth $30 million before last season.

The 16-year veteran started 39 games for the 61-win Spurs last season and averaged 12.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 25.4 minutes per game.

Earlier this month, Gasol confirmed he'll play for his home country of Spain in the upcoming Eurobasket.

He just tweeted a photo of himself working out getting ready for the tournament that begins Aug. 31.
