Udonis Haslem will be back with the Miami Heat next season.

For one more year, at least, the Miami Heat still have a link to their recent championships.

Udonis Haslem has agreed to a one-year deal to stay with the franchise where he has spent his entire career, the Heat announced Thursday. Haslem is the last remaining player from Miami's three championship teams in 2006, 2012 and 2013.

The deal is for the veteran's minimum of $2.3 million, a person with knowledge of the negotiations confirmed to USA TODAY Sports' Jeff Zillgitt. The person spoke under the condition of anonymity because the terms of the contract had not been released.

“It is a great, great, day to have Udonis Haslem sign a contract for his 15th season with the Miami Heat,” said team president Pat Riley. “He isn’t just Mr. 305, he is a true patriarch of the team. Today we are proud to announce that he is back to lead the Heat again.”

Haslem has appeared in 830 career regular season games (498 starts), averaging 7.8 points, 6.9 rebounds and 25.7 minutes. He has shot 49.1% from the floor.

He only played in 16 games last season and 37 the year before, so he'll be back with the Heat mostly in the mentoring role.

Haslem has been the captain for the Heat in each of the past 10 seasons, the longest tenure in franchise history. He needs to play in 25 games to tie the all-time franchise record for games played.
