Free agent Mike Muscala will re-sign with the Atlanta Hawks

Mike Muscala has reached an agreement on a two-year contract to stay with the Atlanta Hawks, two people familiar with the deal told USA TODAY Sports' Sam Amick. They spoke under the condition of anonymity because the deal had not yet been announced. 

Muscala's deal is for $10 million with a player option for the second year.

The 6-11 center has been a key contributor off the bench for the Hawks and is coming off a career-year in which he averaged 6.2 points and 3.4 rebounds in 17.7 minutes.

He fits into the modern NBA playing style as a stretch four or five who is a solid jump shooter and effective on three-pointers. Last season, he shot 41.8% from three-point range and 50.4% overall.
