New Orleans Pelicans guard Jrue Holiday (11) drives to the net in the third quarter against the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center. The Pelicans won 115-90.

Point guard Jrue Holiday agreed to terms with the New Orleans Pelicans on a five-year, $126 million deal to stay with the team he's been with the last four seasons, his agent Jason Glushon told USA TODAY Sports' Sam Amick.

The deal includes incentives that could push the value to $150 million and has a player option on the last year.

Holiday was one of the best point guards available on the market, but there was also a trust factor with the Pelicans, who supported him last season while he dealt with a family medical emergency.

Holiday's wife, Lauren - a member of the United States women's national soccer team, underwent brain surgery to remove a benign tumor after giving birth to the couple's first child. Holiday took a leave of absence to be with his family while his wife underwent successful surgery in October.

Holiday averaged 15.4 points and 7.3 assists last season.
