Nicolet’s girls swimming and diving team finished out of the scoring but still closed the season with three entries at the Division 1 state meet in Madison on Nov. 12.
Taylor Hall grabbed 19th in the 50-yard freestyle, posting a time of 24.81 seconds. Hall joined teammates Keona Cirulis, Ana Eurich and Anna Christenson to take 19th in the 200 free relay in 1:41.22.
Elizabeth Sullivan took 23rd in the breaststroke, touching the wall in 1:08.58.
"I was pleased with how the girls swam at the meet on Saturday," coach Bill Shuster said. "They put in a lot of hard work over the season to get to that meet, and while they did gain a bit of time, that's just the nature of the beast when you have to rest completely to get there."
Middleton won the state title for the first time in school history, followed by Verona/Mount Horeb and two-time reigning state champion Arrowhead in third.
