In this photo provided by Puerto Princesa Tourism Office, shows residents look at a giant pearl measuring 1 foot, 2.2 feet-long and weighing 75 pounds on display in the lobby of the Puerto Princesa City Hall in Puerto Princesa city, Palawan province in southwestern Philippines.

A Filipino fisherman kept a 75-pound pearl under a bed for the past 10 years, AP reports.

The fisherman, who did want to be identified, thought of the pearl as a good luck charm until a fire forced him to move, the New York Post reports. The pearl's owner then gave it to the Puerto Princesa tourism office, which determined the pearl, worth $100 million, is much larger than the current world record holder, the Post reports.

Palawan, where the large pearl is now being displayed, has been the home of some sizable pearls — AP reports in years past, a 54-pound pearl and 20-pound pearl were found.

The Pearl of Allah, weighing 14-pounds, was believed to be the previous record holder. The Guinness World Records notes a abalone pearl found in California measuring 5.51-inches by 3.14-inches by 1.57 inches is the current world record holder of its kind. The fisherman's pearl is a foot wide and 2.2 feet long.
