WHITEFISH BAY - Delaney Schoshinski, an eighth-grader at Whitefish Bay Middle School, will soon travel to Ireland for the World Irish Dance Championship.

The 14-year old girl has been dancing with Trinity Irish Dancers for 10 years. This is her second time competing at the world championship competition, the first time being with the world champion U13 choreography team in 2014. This will be her first time competing as a soloist. This year's World Irish Dance Championship will be held from April 8-16 in Dublin, Ireland.

"Irish dance is the perfect activity for me. I've played other team sports but Irish dance gives me the opportunity to be on a team and compete on my own," she said. "Competing on a team at the World Championships in London in 2013 and winning a gold medal has been the highlight of my experiences so far.  I can't wait to compete in Dublin this April on a Worlds stage as a soloist."
