SHOREWOOD - After two days of soft openings, Mod Pizza, 4151 N. Oakland Ave., held a grand opening Friday, May 5.
All pizza sales during the grand opening will be given to Generosity Feeds to fund the packaging of 10,000 meals that will be distributed through local backpack programs.
Mod Pizza was founded in Seattle in 2008 by entrepreneurs Scott and Ally Svenson. Mod Pizza's individual artisan-style pizzas and salads are made on demand, letting customers choose whatever they like from more than 30 toppings, all for one set price. Mod Pizza also serves salad, garlic strips, milkshakes, draft beer and wine.
In addition to the Shorewood restaurant, Mod Pizza has also recently opened in Fitchburg, New Berlin and Pleasant Prairie.
Mod Pizza is one of four retailers that have recently opened on the ground floor of the six-story Mosaic building in Shorewood. Those retailers include Wisconsin Vision, OrangeTheory Fitness and Bentley's Pet Stuff. Two other ground-floor spaces remain available for lease.
The Mod Pizza in Shorewood will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
