SHOREWOOD - Businesses are starting to open on the ground floor of Shorewood's new six-story Mosaic building, 4175 N. Oakland Ave.
Wisconsin Vision was the first to open on April 10, followed by OrangeTheory Fitness on April 14. Mod Pizza is slated to open May 5, and Bentley's Pet Stuff is expected to open May 8. Two other ground-floor spaces remain available for lease. The stores are topped with 90 luxury apartments. The apartments are nearly ready for occupancy, and nearly 60 percent of the units are leased. Joseph Property Development expects to have all units leased by Labor Day.
OrangeTheory is a national fitness franchise with studios in Madison, Brookfield, Mequon and Delafield. OrangeTheory Fitness is a one-hour group fitness workout broken into intervals of cardiovascular and strength training. With the guidance of instructors, participants use treadmills, rowing machines, TRX suspension training and free weights. All of the members wear heart rate monitors that are displayed on television screens throughout the gym.
MOD Pizza is a Seattle-based build-your-own pizza chain that recently opened in Fitchburg, New Berlin and Pleasant Prairie. In addition to build-your-own pizzas cooked in wood-burning ovens, MOD Pizza will also serve salad, garlic strips, milkshakes, draft beer and wine. The restaurant will also have patio seating in the summer months.

Bentley's Pet Stuff may be a new name to Shorewood residents, but store owner Sherri Losby is a familiar face for customers at The Pet Outpost, 4604 N. Wilson Drive. Losby owned The Pet Outpost from 2011 through 2016, when the store was acquired by Bentley's Pet Stuff. Bentley's Pet Stuff sells natural food, pet care essentials, toys, grooming products and treats. Specialty pet food brands such as Fromm, Orijen, Zignature, Honest Kitchen and Stella & Chewy's are available at the store.
Started from a single retail store eight years ago, Bentley's Corner Barkery expanded to seven locations before acquiring Pet Stuff in November 2015. A new company was formed called Bentley's Pet Stuff, which now boasts 15 locations across the greater Chicago area. Employees from the former Pet Outpost in Shorewood have helped open eight Milwaukee-area Bentley's Pet Stuff over the past six months.
