River Hills — A 17-year-old student at University School of Milwaukee has been charged with taking upskirt photos of his female classmates.

Austin Halbrooks has been charged with four counts of invasion of privacy and one count of disorderly conduct in Milwaukee County Circuit Court. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 14 years in prison and $40,000 in fines.

A classmate reported Halbrooks' alleged actions to school officials, who reported the incident to River Hills police. When questioned by the school's security director, Halbrook admitted to taking photos up the skirts of female classmates without their knowledge, according to a criminal complaint. The photos were taken during a four month period, between December 2015 and April 2016.

Police seized Halbrook's computer and found multiple images focused on female students' breasts, buttocks, legs and feet. Not all girls were able to be identified, but police and school officials did identify five female students, ages 17 and 18, according to the complaint. The computer had 59 pictures of the five girls.

The upskirt photos were taken while the girls were standing up and walking up the stairs, according to the criminal complaint.
