MEQUON - A preference for juicy, mouth-watering steak at Joey Gerard’s Supper Club has prompted the Bartolotta Restaurant Group to make some changes.

The popular restaurant group announced on May 10 that it will convert the supper club at 11120 N. Cedarburg Road into its second Mr. B’s A Bartolotta Steakhouse location.

“Feedback from our guests prompted our decision,” said Joe Bartolotta, president and co-owner of the Bartolotta Restaurant Group, in a press release. “We have been asked for years when we would open a second Mr. B's restaurant and decided that Mequon was the perfect location.”

Joey Gerard's in Mequon will remain open until renovations begin in August, the release said, and the new Mr. B's location is expected to open in mid-September.

“The biggest changes will be the décor and the menu,” said Kelly Mallegni, marketing manager for the Bartolotta Restaurant Group. “We will be making a lot of aesthetic changes to match the look and feel of the Mr. B’s brand (and) our menu will match the Mr. B’s menu in Brookfield to include a lot more steak choices.”

The success of the Brookfield location has for several years piqued an interest in adding a second location elsewhere, Mallegni said, and Mequon makes sense.

“There is not a selection of high-end steakhouses in Mequon, but diners are increasingly looking for that type of experience in the area,” she said.

Feedback from supper club patrons also played a role.

“Listening to the feedback from our guests, we realized they were gravitating toward our steakhouse offerings,” Bartolotta said. “This brought us to the conclusion that Mr. B's would be a better fit for the marketplace and our loyal guests.”

Joey Gerard's Mequon executive chef Amber Dorszynski will continue to run the new Mr. B's kitchen, drawing from her past experience working at the original Mr. B's location in Brookfield and working with Bartolotta Restaurant Group corporate executive chef Adam Siegel.

“The restaurant will exhibit the same classic steakhouse atmosphere that we have had so much fun creating in Brookfield over the past 18 years,” Bartolotta added, in the release. “We look forward to bringing Mr. B's to Mequon and being a part of the community for years to come.”

The other Joey Gerard’s Supper Club in Greendale will remain unchanged, the release added.
