From U.S. Senate to state Assembly, candidates filed their paperwork last week for the November election.
Here is a list of candidates that will be on the ballot in the North Shore Now coverage area. Primary elections will be held as needed on Aug. 9. The general election will be held Nov. 8.
Republican Sen. Ron Johnson faces a rematch from Democrat Russ Feingold for one of Wisconsin's two U.S. Senate seats. Johnson faces a primary challenge from Republican John Scheiss, and Feingold faces a primary challenge from Scott Harbach. Libertarian Phillip Anderson will also be on the ballot.
U.S. House of Representatives, District 4
U.S. Congresswoman Gwen Moore will face a Democratic primary challenge from Gary George in District 4. The winner of that race will face Robert Raymond (independent), Andy Craig (Libertarian) and Weldon Carnahan (Republican) in November.
U.S. House of Representatives, District 6
Democratic candidates W. Michael Slattery and Sarah Lloyd will face off in the August primary election. The winner will face Republican Congressman Glenn Grothman and independent candidate Jeff Dahlke.
State Senate, District 4
Democratic Sen. Lena Taylor will be challenged by Democratic Rep. Mandela Barnes, who did not file for re-election in the 11th Assembly District.
Republican Sen. Alberta Darling will run unopposed for re-election in the 8th Senate District.
Democratic Rep. David Bowen will run unopposed for re-election in the 10th Assembly District.
State Rep. Mandela Barnes' 11th Assembly District seat will be filled by the winner of a Democratic primary election in August. The two candidates are Brandon Jackson and Darrol Gibson.
Republican Rep. Jim Ott will run unopposed for re-election in the 23rd Assembly District.
Republican Rep. Dan Knodl will run unopposed for re-election in the 24th Assembly District.
Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm faces a Democratic primary challenge from Verona Swanigan.
Ozaukee County District Attorney Adam Gerol will run unopposed for re-election.
Milwaukee County Clerk George Christenson will run unopposed.
Ozaukee County Clerk Julianne Winkelhorst will run unopposed for re-election.
Milwaukee County Treasurer David Cullen will run unopposed for re-election.
Ozaukee County Treasurer Karen Makoutz will not seek re-election. Republican candidates Cari Anne Mihalko and Joshua Morrison will face off in a Republican primary election.
Milwaukee County Register of Deeds John La Fave will run unopposed for re-election.
Ozaukee County Register of Deeds Ronald Voigt will run unopposed for re-election.
