Brown Deer — A 17-year-old Milwaukee boy who was fleeing Brown Deer police in a stolen car died after crashing into a semitrailer early Thursday morning at Good Hope Road and Sherman Boulevard.

Brown Deer police attempted to stop the stolen minivan in the 7900 block of Sherman Boulevard, which is closer to Bradley Road,  at 5 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19. Instead of pulling over, the driver of the stolen minivan fled southbound. The vehicle ignored a red stoplight at the Good Hope Road intersection, causing a collision with a semitrailer that was headed westbound on Good Hope Road. The collision was so forceful that it knocked the semitrailer on its side.

The driver of the semitrailer was transported to a local hospital for what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries. Police are not identifying the deceased driver at this time.
