Whitefish Bay to host Holiday Stroll

The Whitefish Bay Business Improvement District will host the annual Holiday Stroll event from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, on Silver Spring Drive.

The highlight of the event is the parade, which begins at 6 p.m. on Silver Spring Drive at Kent Avenue and heads east to Lake Drive. The parade features music, the Dancing Grannies, bagpipes, ponies and Santa and his reindeer. After the parade, a tree lighting ceremony will be held at Sendik's Food Market. Many of the stores will be holding open houses and offering special deals throughout the day and night.

Santa will also be available for visits after the parade at BMO Harris Bank. Milwaukee Ballet dancers can be seen in several store windows. There will also be strolling carolers from the Milwaukee Repertory Theater's "A Christmas Carol." Pony rides will be available on the east side of Silver Spring Drive after the parade. Train rides will be offered by the Fox Bay building. The Whitefish Bay High School band will perform at City Market, and the Dancing Grannies will be available for a meet-and-greet at Ellenbecker Investment Group offices. The Bay restaurant will host an after-party with live music by Mark Meany.

Shorewood holds tree lighting celebration

The village of Shorewood will hold a tree lighting celebration from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at Metro Market, 4075 N. Oakland Ave.

The celebration will feature a visit from Santa, as well as entertainment, snacks and giveaways. The Shorewood High School Jazz Ensemble will also perform at the event.

Kiwanis Club hosts breakfast with Santa

The Kiwanis Club of North Shore Milwaukee will hold its annual Breakfast with Santa event from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at St. Monica Parish, 5900 N. Santa Monica Blvd., Whitefish Bay.

Santa will be at the event to greet attendees and pose for pictures with children of all ages. Breakfast will include pancakes, sausage, juice, milk and coffee. There will also be a silent auction, raffles and face painting.

Tickets are available at the door, at Winkie’s or from a Kiwanis member. Tickets are $7 per adult (ages 10 and up) and $5 per child over the age of 2. Proceeds benefit Kiwanis charities. The event will be held in the parish hall, which can be accessed by entering Door #1 from the parking lot off of Lake View Avenue.

Rotary hosts breakfast with Santa

The Rotary Club of Milwaukee North Shore is hosting a breakfast with Santa event from 8 a.m. to noon on Sunday, Dec. 4.

The breakfast includes all-you-can-eat pancakes with toppings, coffee by Coffee With a Conscience, children’s activities, door prizes and music from North Shore area high school bands. Visits with Santa cost $5.

Advance tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children 10 and under. Tickets at the door cost $9 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under. For advance tickets, call Brian Guerin at (414) 355-4700.

Explore the outdoors with activities at SANC

The Schlitz Audubon Nature Center, 1111 E. Brown Deer Road, has activities for all ages. For information, call 414-352-2880.

Word with a Bird: 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 26 and Nov. 27

Each Word with a Bird program focuses on the specific skills, traits and adaptations that make that bird such a unique creature. While visiting SANC make sure to spend some time outdoors on the trails. Members can check out snowshoes to use while visiting the center. Cost: Free with membership or admission.
