A Milwaukee resident has claimed the $156.2 million Powerball ticket sold in March at a Pewaukee gas station, the Wisconsin Lottery said Friday.

The lottery identified the winner of the multistate game as Mai Xiong.

Xiong took the option of receiving a cash payout of $93.1 million, the lottery said.

David Furlong, an assistant manager at the Pewaukee Corner Pump, holds a sign the station received from the Wisconsin Lottery. A $156.2 million winning Powerball ticket was sold, but the winner has yet to present the ticket. The sign shows an incorrect amount of the prize, according Eileen O'Neill, deputy secretary of revenue. A new sign with the correct information will be sent out, she said.

It's the second-largest Powerball award for a Wisconsin winner. In 2006, a group of 100 people in Fond du Lac won $208.8 million.

The winning ticket was purchased March 22 at the Pewaukee Corner Pump at 1194 W. Capitol Dr. Owners of the station received $100,000 for selling the winning ticket.

"That's a great thing for the state of Wisconsin and the metro Milwaukee area," Corner Pump owner Ed McMahon said when told the winner had been located. He said he was not familiar with the winner.

"I'm just glad that the ticket didn't end up in a washing machine or something."

State law requires the lottery to identify winners. The winner, however, is not required to make a public appearance.

A total of 47 lotteries sell the Powerball game. That includes 44 states, Washington, D.C., the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.

There were 16,277,301 Powerball tickets sold in the March 22 drawing, the lottery said.
