The Shorewood Senior Resource Center (SRC), 2010 E. Shorewood Blvd., has a number of programs and opportunities coming up.
From 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, the center will present a program on what kind of help there is for people with dementia and their care partners.
A panel moderated by Elizabeth Price of the Shorewood Senior Resource Center will provide valuable and helpful information, including an overview by Miriam Oliensis-Torres of Stowell Associates with specific resource details from Krista Scheel of the Alzheimer’s Association of Southeastern Wisconsin, Kathleen Platt of the North Shore Health Department and Bashir Easter of the Milwaukee County Aging Resource Center.
On Thursday, Nov. 3, a three-part series on Buddha's Eightfold Path, led by Carolyn Sweers, will begin. Guided by the book “Eight Mindful Steps to Happiness,” written by a Buddhist monk, this series is a practical guide to finding peace, compassion and wisdom. Meditation will be a part of each class session.
The series runs from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Nov. 3, 10, 17 in the Shorewood Village Center, 3920 N. Murray Ave. The cost for Shorewood residents is $15 for the series or $6/class. Nonresident cost is $21 for the series or $8/class. Registration is recommended.
