Jimmy Kimmel reads mean tweets from Trump supporters

Jimmy Kimmel addressed supporters of President Trump on his late-night show Tuesday, saying he understood they wanted to shake things up politically but that electing Trump was a mistake.

“You can dig in like Chris Christie at a hometown buffet, or you can treat the situation like you would if you put Star Wars wallpaper up in the kitchen. ‘Alright, I got caught up. I was excited. I made a mistake and now it needs to go," he said.

Of course, not everyone was a fan of his statements. And thanks to social media, people made their opinions known.

Kimmel opened his show Wednesday by reading some of the comments, as he does in the recurring "Mean Tweets" segment. He started off joking that he thought he'd "made a breakthrough" due to the "thoughtful" responses he'd received.

One Twitter user called him a "snowflake," and another said he was a "whining baby."

"I hate em all tbh," said a third user.

And the replies weren't just on Twitter — Facebook users also left him messages.

"Jimmy Kimmel is the worst talk show host and most stupid person I have ever seen," wrote one named James, who finished the post by saying Kimmel's show should be canceled.

"It just goes to show that if you try to understand where people are coming from, and talk to them like human beings, they will open up, you just have to communicate," Kimmel joked.
