Paris Hilton: I 'could have been' like Princess Diana if not for sex tape

Paris Hilton attends the premiere of 'The Beguiled' at on June 12, 2017 in Los Angeles.

Paris Hilton says her sex tape is what ruined her royal dream.

In an interview with Marie Claire Monday, the stylish socialite opened up about her ex-boyfriend Rick Salomon, who she holds responsible for destroying her chances of becoming someone like Princess Diana because of the sex tape he released of her in 2003.

"It's really hurtful, because my whole life I really looked up to Princess Diana, all these elegant, amazing women, and I feel like [Salomon] just took that all away from me," she said. "I could have been like that, but because of that tape, I will always be judged and thought of as whatever they say about me because of a private moment between my boyfriend and me."

She also revealed her only regret in her 36 years of life.

"I wish I had never met him. That is actually the one regret in my life. I wish that I had never met that guy. I could not leave my house for months. I was so depressed, humiliated. I didn't want to be seen in public," she said.

Hilton has moved on to other relationships, however. She's currently dating Chris Zylka, who she referred to as "the one" at the premiere of his show The Leftovers in April.

"I've never felt so safe and so happy in my life," she said on the red carpet.

The couple were also seen together at The Beguiled premiere in June, which you can check it out in the gallery below.
