West Bend's No Way Cafe offers tasty desserts, soups and chili that are gluten-free

No Way Cafe features gluten-free food such as bakery items, coffee, tea, soup and chili. It opened in West Bend at the end of January.

When Jackie Cull offers people her tasty desserts, they exclaim how wonderful they are.

And then, Cull drops the bombshell: "They are gluten-free," she said.

"No way" is the typical response, indicating how surprisingly good the treats are. So when she opened her eatery in West Bend, it was obvious what the business name would be.

No Way Cafe opened at the end of January, serving coffee, tea and other drinks, dessert items, a soup of the day and chili. "It is 100 percent as gluten-free and as organic as possible," she said.

Who's involved in the business?

Cull said her business is a true family business. She opened it with her husband Aaron, her mother-in-law, Nancy Klevesahl, makes both the soup of the day and the chili, and Cull's two sons coordinate the advertising and website, respectively."We have been talking about opening it as a family. But it was right before COVID-19 so we put (opening the business) on hold," explained Cull.

But when a tenant recently moved out of the building, she said, "It must be the time."

What kinds of drink items are offered at No Way Cafe?

No Way Cafe has items such as peach blossom, cinnamon plum and elderberry healer teas, and smoothies such as strawberry banana and peanut butter protein.

It has coffees such as lattes, mochas, americanos and cappuccino and coffee alternatives such as kombucha.

What kinds of dessert and food items are at No Way Cafe?

Dessert items have included banana bread loaf, blueberry lemon scones, cinnamon rolls and raspberry lemon scones. The soup of the day has included organic chicken, rice and vegetable soup and Zuppa Toscana, which is a creamy potato sausage soup with spinach.

Cull said by the end of March, they hope to have more lunch items such as paninis, organic salads and macaroni and cheese.

What are its hours?

The hours at No Way Cafe are 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. In the future, the hours may change and they would be posted on Facebook.

Is there indoor seating at No Way Cafe?

There is indoor seating at No Way Cafe, with tables and chairs to seat 28 people. There are also a couple of couches.

Will there be outdoor seating at No Way Cafe?

There will be outdoor seating at No Way Cafe. Cull said she does not know how many tables or chairs there will be as she is still planning on how to decorate the patio.
